Stormwater Drainage Studies

Concurrent with filing of initial planning documents, most municipalities require submission of Stormwater Drainage Studies. Increasingly, such studies are also required by state transportation agencies for improvements to land adjacent to highways. These studies must define the existing stormwater runoff from a site, the runoff after planned development, and the methods, such as detention ponds, for limiting the post-development runoff in accordance with local requirements.

Landplan sends experienced engineers to assess sites and review stormwater system elements of surrounding property. The site is modeled, often utilizing varying approaches and layouts. This work is coordinated with the firm’s landscape architecture services and is integral to the site development concepts presented to Clients and ultimately to the plans and plats filed with local planning commissions.
