Vehicular Bridges

Vehicular bridges must stand the test of the ages, accommodating wide variations in loads and traffic over their lives. Bridge design involves both the structure carrying loads as well as the abutment and footings upon which it rests. Deck and ramp criteria must also be addressed.

Landplan Engineering provides design services for bridges using manufacturer engineered structures, such as steel and concrete arches, concrete culverts, and manufactured bridges from Steadfast and other well known bridge makers. The firm provides design of roadway ramps to the bridge, pavement across the bridge, and design of foundations and abutments. Where custom designed structures are required, Landplan Engineering regularly calls upon the specialized expertise of major firms’ bridge departments. Under both approaches, Landplan provides value engineering analysis for cost effectiveness and for amenity value of the structure. Bridges and culverts provide the opportunity to turn onerous project requirements into value building amenities for the communities in which they are placed. The firm has used lighting, custom safety rails, and facing to turn plain concrete structures into development centerpieces.
