Junction City, Kansas
Olivia Farms, a 204-lot Planned Residential Development on 77 acres, was developed in response to a critical need for housing in Junction City, Kansas as the Big Red One relocated to Fort Riley. The development is a mix of cottage apartments, townhomes and single-family residences set in a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood with many amenities within walking distance. Landplan was retained by the developer in 2006 to provide conceptual planning and infrastructure design.
The project included concrete streets and alleys, two large box culverts, two sanitary pump stations, walking trails, retention pond, community park and pool. Approximately 45,000 square yards of concrete were used to construct the street and alleys. Landplan also assisted the developer with US Army Corps of Engineers permitting for the culverts and pond improvements. The project was designed and built over the course of a single year.
