Northland Development Master Plan

Osawatomie, Kansas

The Northland Development is approximately 327 acres in the City of Osawatomie, generally adjacent to the Osawatomie State Hospital. A part of the Eastern Kansas Economic Initiative, the Northland Development consists of a unique blend of proposed industrial, commercial and other uses that have significant employment and economic potential for the Highway 169 corridor.

Landplan Engineering was retained by the City of Osawatomie to work with the Northland Advisory Committee, comprised of representatives from the Osawatomie City Council, Miami County and the State Hospital, to create a master plan and pro-forma to facilitate marketing and the initiation of the development. After gathering information and data on the land area within the project limits, Landplan conducted several work sessions with the Committee, affected property owners and stakeholders, and City staff to address relevant issues and develop the working design. The resulting master plan and pro-forma provide a creative and flexible mixed-use development proposal, with projected infrastructure costs and utility routing plans for phased implementation.
